  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Custom Steadicam for REDusers <1800USD - Post your ideas

Sounds like an interesting deal for the L'angle, however the price is significantly higher than the CAME. How much is L'Angle's original price, and how big of a discount is the group buy price comparatively?

Thanks!

Best that the original price only is posted here.

Discounts allow you to work out Group Buy vs Retail and the various manufactures want to keep that off-list.

Just check out David's blog for the group price.

I agree it would be useful to have list price here :)

Wow, I leave for a couple of days and I miss all the action! Well either way, I'm still down to get the best rig with our collective buying power. Let's avoid the opportunists, middlemen and even possible saboteurs and deal direct with the manufacturers. There is a lot of money to be made here. If Laing wants to lose this group sale, so be it. But I certainly hope they reconsider. Anyway, there are lots of other viable candidates and 100+ sales will certainly make any company's quarter.

Hello, glad i'm in.

I have a question: since L'Aigle is a French name for The Eagle, are they located in France?
(I'm asking this, because i'm in Italy, so it should be no custom)

Thanks again David!

I'll buy the first beer for you mate, keep up the hard work. cheers

WOW... for those who can swing it, I'd say the Proline is hands-down the way to go. I'd definitely be in if we can get our numbers up... Seems like the smartest investment as it already has all the options we've been discussing in the other thread...

Yes the proline start to be interesting after 80 buyers...
But I don't think that we will be 80+ agree to spent so much...
If we are 40 it will already be a good thing !
How much buyers is needed for the "L'Aigle" group price ?

Thanks !

Proline looks great. It has everything that we all are looking for in a stabilizer system... and they are being very generous to get our business. If we can meet the number of buyers needed, it is an excellent deal.

Found also some positive review on the SteadicamForum

The proline unit is really looking positive especially at the 80+ price. For the specs that are offered I think that's a great value assuming that it lives up to it's claims. Of course i'm still curious to see reviews of all the perspective units but for the potentially marginal increase in price from the l'aigle to the proline at 80+ orders that is definitely the way I would lean even if it means financing or some other means to afford this purchase.

The Proline system looks much better in it's specs than the others, but a solid demo by an experienced steadi-op would be invaluable. Additionally, feedback is needed from more than one Proline owner. The very little info that is posted on the steadicam forum is mostly by guys with a history of only one post.

Perhaps Proline is such a new company that there isn't much information about it yet. I know several ops in the Atlanta area, and I don't know any who own the Proline. I'm not saying anything negative about the product, only that not much is really known in terms of service, quality, ease of use, etc.

All the best,
Lael
