This place opened up around the corner from me so I thought it would be a good chance to shoot a little piece. I haven't been able to share a lot of the other projects I am on at the moment so this was just for fun.
It was just me on this one which sucked for the sound. The mix is crappola but I never pretended to be a sound guy. The grade is off in a bunch of places as well but I couldn't be bothered going back. I just wanted to punch out a little project.

Kind of liberating operating as a one man band. Shot 4k 30fps and all on Contax Zeiss lenses.

Great work. Always love seeing other peoples work on Contax Zeiss lenses. I love my set.

Thanks guys.

I may give this grade another shot when I get a chance. Can't stand the unbalanced looks.
It was fun though not having to get clearance from 15 different people just to put a power window in. Refreshing to see what you can do on your own.

Thanks for that Patrick.

Love the music.

Now you got me looking at your lens ;)

Great job Patrick, loved it. What Contax lenses did you use? Also, are you hand-holding the camera, or rocking a slider?

Loved the mood, the vibe, and you clear INTEREST in your subject. Really comes through. You have a knack for doc-work my friend.

3K 48fps on Scarlet looks AWESOME.

can you post some BTS photos :) really liked the shots only negative thing is flicker distracted me little bit in the beginning.

Thanks Kemalettin. I'd love to have got some BTS photos but I would of had to have done those instead of the actual clip. IT was literally me running around with the RED a bag of Contax Zeiss lenses and an Easy Rig.
Thats it and we had to be in and out in about two hours which wouldnt have been bad if the interview part hadn't of taken 45 minutes to set up because I was solo.

Thanks Nick.

On this I think it was every Contax I've got bar the 100 makro. So the 21 2.8 the 28 f2 the 35 1.4 the 50 1.4 and the 85 1,4. Oh and the 25mm 2.8.

Getting very excited as just after I shot this I sent them all to be transformed into Contax UltraSpeedPanchroMasterSummiluxMastadon Primes. They are all getting a complete rehouse and rework and should be ready to rock sometime in Feb. They will be bigger and heavier but they'll all be standard 95mm and all geared up in a pretty kick ass PL housing.

A set of 7 cinehoused primes with great optics and characteristics that I love for the price of a single Ultra Prime.

I will do a big review on them as soon as I test them out. The housings that is. I already know that the glass is good.

Where are you getting them re-housed? GL Optics?

PL housing doesn't sound like GL Optics since he only does them in EF mount...

I would also be interested to know where they do PL rehousing for Contax glass.

Yeah, interested too. I was going to go for the GlOptics. I think they are still a great option but PL mount is PL mount. Even for rentals PL housed is always better. Though I can say that even Red's aluminium Canon is rock solid let alone a PL mount.

I've seen a bunch of rehoused Contax glass in PL mount coming from Korea on eBay in the past few months. Not really sure how they do it but I assume they strip all of the mechanics out and probably re-assemble them more forward, so the lens can sit deeper into the PL flange. They looked pretty good but it's hard to tell what is lasting quality... and the potential for those lenses to be CLA'd by someone in a different facility is unknown.
