  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

okay LOL HAHAHA you're not exactly letting it rest are you?? everyone has tried to explain to you that the price drop is a business decision for the health of RED as a company and not your business. and you said " it will no longer make sense for even a very busy DP to buy their own camera as rental will be the better option" which is completely false and will be proven so when orders for EPIC rise after this announcement. why wouldn't a PRO DP buy an EPIC for 30% less than you got one for? if you didn't have one, you would buy it too! so none sense. you make very few good arguments and tons of bad ones. it's apparent to everyone you are only thinking about what's good for YOU. I hope the price point they decide on is the best one for RED as a company and hopefully that will also benefit me. either way with competition increasing I am destined to one day own an amazing camera of EPIC quality for a much lower price then $34K.

now I urge you to please get some Poutine and watch some hockey after the announcement and try to chill out instead of posting negative remarks if the price is lower than you would like. I don't think you're gonna like the new price. but who knows, we will know very soon now.

66% a year later is exactly what I would expect the used price of a camera to be.
 
Rob, you have been trolling all over these threads. Everyone understands that you're upset and have a viewpoint, but you're being annoying. If you want to argue, move to another thread.

Agree. But "you" above should include existing AND soon-to-be customers. That's where RED differs from the other companies who become exclusionary and gatekeepers. I hate gatekeepers, because I'm an eternal outsider. That said, I do feel your pain in seeing a product you buy become cheaper overnight. But... there are always winners and losers. This time, in the short term, being an EPIC-X owner, I may be on the losing side too. If only, RED thinks more along the lines of helping us be competitive with Alexa and reduces the price on the RIGHT things... then, maybe I can be a winner as well.

oh well. We'll see.
