  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

You guys really know how to get my blood pumping...RED! I've been struggling with your temptation of owning a 2nd Scarlet this whole time. Sadly not for me this time...

Hope you guys tell us for what those special Scarlets have been used as soon as you can. Wouldn't it be awesome to sit in cinema and tell your gf "look, a few of those frames in that scene are shot with my camera"? ;)
 
Speaking about that bullet time shot again, if I remember correctly, they used a bunch of still cameras in sync (no motion), on a green screen and a software that interpolates between frames to produce that all around effect, then they added the cg bullets and background later..

Super cool ... if this was done in 3d, would require twice as many camera's ( 55 camera arc would be 110 cameras ... perty coolness). I was playing around with trying to do the stereo with interpolation via a single camera arc, but part of my brain exploded.

BTW ... RED guys are kicking butt ... thanks Nar !!! i just noticed my battle tested scarlet shipped.
 
Ordered last night! Couldn't sleep at all, so excited for what is to come in the future. Thanks Red for an amazing deal.

Wow! - Fantastic!! I didn't expect these to start shipping for at least another week - They are kicking but; maybe mine will push out the door by the weekend.

when did you order? i ordered mine not even 2 hours after this thread was started and red already had my money (because i was in the process of ordering a scarlet kit, just could not make up my mind about accessories...you can imagine how happy i was....) nothing shipped to me yet.....

Was quick and fairly brain dead decision for me, since i'm shooting with a scarlet already and i needed a 2nd one that had a canon mount.

LMAO ... i remember on the original scarlet order we had this hugely complex way of guessing order shipping sequence, had spreadsheets and everything (thanks guys who did that) ... no way do i want to even think about order sequence on this one.

Trying to not remember that… it was pretty comical.
 
I'm just glad it's over, because it was very tempting. Like someone mentioned previously, would love it if the same thing happened with the Epics down the road. Was fun to watch the feeding frenzy and to now read the joy that so many new RED owners are experiencing awaiting their new Scarlets.
