  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Yup, that Easter Egg link is no longer active - as soon as the numbers showed we were down to last few, we pulled the link. If you placed an order before we pulled the link, you are all set and should have gotten an email with a confirmation number.

Check my posts from earlier in this thread that comment on processing times, when we expect to start shipping, etc. But to reiterate, a lot of volume over the past few days so expect slightly longer response times from reps as they plow through all their emails and voicemails.

For those wondering "why not EPIC's?". It's clearly a bullet time setup, so there would be no advantage to be had using an EPIC over Scarlet. You don't need high frame rates for bullet time effects after all. Using Scarlets however means that the production can keep a consistent look and feel to the cinematography as they are basically using the same kind of hardware and lenses for both the bullet time stuff and the actual main film shoot (I'm sure the rest of the film is also shot on RED. Possibly on EPIC's.)

Hope that makes sense. I'm guessing you can work out what I mean anyway!

Now me, I'm wondering what those tripods were? ;)

Heres an idea! If all the Scarlets were free running with timecode in sync, then they wouldn't have to be triggered in theory and the bullet time effect could then be extracted at any point in the performance and not just at the magic moment the cameras were triggered? At least I think that seems possible?

If so then I think that means that you are okay, as they took the link away when they sold out.
It's not there anymore!

Probably you havn't been contacted as RED are rushed off their feet.
This hasn't exactly been the world's best kept secret and they were probably thinking that the cameras would take a bit longer to sell! ;)

Will you reveal how many cameras were actually up for sale? I'm curious how many were needed for the special effects shot.
