Red Gunnner Rip Off...

The whole thing looks like some alternate universe version of RED based in Germany but with no cameras.

Why do German always think they can just take what's not theirs. So Alexa blows chunks... Too bad, hit the woodshed and try something different don't steal.

**** does clearly not pertain to all Germains ****

Paul, the disclaimer is contradictory to the first sentence.

I suggest re-considering the effect of the post.

Its pretty clear where the inspiration comes from, but assembling standard NATO profiles and rosettes into similar shapes and groups is going to be tough to protect compared to some of RED's more bespoke ( and important ) creations.

Having some intellectual property licensing expertise, just the fact that RED had very specific placements of cables within the unit is a blatant ripoff.

Total rip-off for sure.

I fixed the thread title.

Eh, who cares about a ripoff of a clunky useless accessory anyways.

Also, they could be paying fees to RED for the design.

Don't think we should jump the gun on labeling people things unless we know the full story.

I'm not going to go very far out on a limb and wager that RED didn't license an exact clone of one of their products. :D

What's annoying is that I kind of agree with Nathan, if they're going to rip off the gunner concept... at least fix all the problems with the gunner while you're at it.

Have you read the 1st amendment? I live in the US.

So does Gavin.

If the first approach, the post which excluded quotation for a reason, was not effective enough, his should do the trick, not just because of the wrapper which might resonate more, but because of a single sentence which positively affects 1) you 2) this community 3) generalising reasoning folk's perception of users of that Amendment.

I friendly suggest caution with generalisation in future, it may look benign but tends to bring quite a bit of mess.

Though your purple prose is noted; I am firmly in camp RED, I'll leave it there.
