  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Even though I hate Windows as an operating system.. and the bugs that go with owning a PC, I'm almost about to jump.
+ Premier in this PC tower was like smooth as silk using R3D's at 4k.

There are so many things i'll be looking at NAB.. so many things. And APPLE are not on that list... unless they bring out some sort of wicked now tower.

Guys we should def meetup. I have an office here, and would love to host those who wanted to stop by, chat about our findings, and share ideas. We have plenty of space in our conference room for a gathering. Anyone interested hit me up. We will also be releasing our encoded robotic trolly which can be programed for over 20ft, and breaks down in 3ft sections. Also can move 360 degrees :)

That's an old PDF that describes a roundtrip Avid/Baselight workflow, which has been available for a few years now. What's being referred to in this thread is a new product that creates a "mini Baseiight" within a Media Composer itsef. That's what the FCP plugin does now.
 
Check the AVC ULTRA products from Panasonic. 4:4:4 12 bits for everyone !

Guys, maybe this is just a rumour, but I heard the new Apple Mac tower will actually be able to lay eggs! I'm a bit like some other people here, I have had enough of Apple. There is no professional support, everyone is treated the same. And that is not how the world works.

Apple to announce 8K Advanced Retina Display.

Apple to announce an advanced compositing/color correction module for FCP X that combines the compositing power of After Effects/Nuke/Shake with advanced color tools found in Resolve, Baselight, etc. The name has not been leaked yet.

With my luck that makes perfect sense. I bought a copy of Shake for a few bucks just when it was at EOL anticipating that Scarlet would come along and there wouldn't be an affordable compositor available. I've never used it, and now that Scarlet has arrived we will be able to have Smoke either inside of, or replacing FCP. Yup, that sounds about right.
 
Either as a plug in or an acquisition the Smoke rumors are a great tease. If it gets us native R3d support in FCP I will be extatic!
 
What if autodesk is buying the old Final Cut Pro?

Canon C500 4K raw recording for $25K at 120fps with external recorder and a FF 4K Cinema DSLR for $10K
, according to Eoshd today...

... Must make a few Canon C300 owners a little less happy with their recent 1080p aquisitions, if turns out to be true.
I wonder if Canon will offer a trade-in program for disgruntled recent purchasers...

There is a trade-in program. It's called selling your camera second-hand and putting the money towards a new one.

Always worked well for me - and you get a new warranty with the new cam. Plus someone else in the world gets to make movies with your old stuff, which is nice.

And wow - if this is true then why would it only be C300 owners who will be unhappy with their recent purchases?

Anyway, exciting stuff! Now bring on Sony F5, Alexa 4K and of course RED DRAGON!
