  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Misc. Update...

Really looking forward to seeing images from the Red projector originated from 4K cameras when you come to Pinewood UK
What other equipment is required in the chain , Red-Ray ? Red Rocket plus breakout box ?
Or can it play 4K footage straight from a Hard disc or camera.
I'm sure it makes a huge difference in overall price! especially for home use

Sounds like a good year to attend NAB.

Count me in. Looking forward to a “Great 2012”! All IN! The New way of watching S3D in the home sounds intriguing, and soon will all the STAGES behind us. “Target price for home and grading suite is $10K” I’m not sure what you mean, but it definitely sound interesting.

I haven't posted much lately... been pretty busy getting ready to deliver the future... again.

REDcolor3 and REDgamma3 are close... we have had a few tweaks. Expect a firmware release for EPIC, Scarlet and the RED ONE very soon. Also expect immediate support for REDCINE-X Pro and the SDK.

The Dragon sensor is in full development. It will be the dream come true. Trust me.

2012 will be the year of EPIC. So many features are being released that are shot on EPIC it is hard to keep track. I guess this is the year that RED sheds the "scam" moniker. Coming up... The Amazing Spiderman, Total Recall, Prometheus, The Great Gatsby, and The Hobbit... among many others.

Our production facility in Irvine is something that we are so proud of... it breaks all the rules and gives hope to a future beyond China.

Our 3D projector has been seen by many of the top dogs in the industry. It appears, according to them, to be the single best and only way to view 3D... in the home or theater. This is the one. It is a huge leap. Maybe the difference between 3D dying and 3D being mandatory.

REDray is real. After a long development process... REDray will be released this year. It will be the highest quality image with the lowest data rate ever achieved in the history of man. We fully expect it to be the gold standard going forward.

We love and appreciate our customers. And it is paramount that we don't disappoint them. We won't.

RED began in 2006 as a garage operation. We had 3 employees. Today there are over 500. Next year there will be over 1000.

Are you with us?

Jim

I think this is my favorite post from Jim ever.

RED will not be known just as the company that changed the industry. That is not enough...

Jim

Don´t forget to sleep Jim, we want you around for a long time!

Jannard I really hear you about the difference between 3d being “mandatory” vs. dying.

That will make a hell of difference and also make it possible to follow through on a lot of complementary technologies that make s-3d REALLY worthwhile.

Keep us in the loop on the projection systems and 3d format, we can definitely get behind that, as its pretty crucial for what we need and do. Real time and VR applications/installations are an important area too of course.

Best,

Eric

Hopefully some more info on the projector will come out soon.

What tech is being used. Scanning, DLP LCOS.

What type of 3D. is it using Passive Linear, Circular or the Dolby inifec Method.

Lumen output and screen sizes.

You just made my year. ;) ready to buy one yesterday.

me to but , is it possible but no one ver mentioned anything about ETA ? thins thing could be on the market in over a year (for what we have seen in the past )

total respects for the achievements of the Company , but i really disagree on this way to announce things zoo ahead that they cannot even know if will ever be in production (like the H264 module...) or the RED ray that has ben widely publicized here since over a year ...

the Red Projector is something that i really look forward , but i truly want to know if we are talking over 6 months from now ...

Jim.........I am 100% with you!

IM in!

Jumped on the RED Train last year and it's been quite a ride so far, looking forward to continuing the ride!
