Misc. Update...

[mikeburton]

Looking forward to the projector and RedRay. Those can't come soon enough. Any estimates on the projector release?

[Jannard]

RED will not be known just as the company that changed the industry. That is not enough...

[Mark Pugh]

Jim any clues about what's exciting you about the Dragon sensor?

[Andrew Huse]

All I need is the Nikon mount and I am good to go for 2012!

[Tom Lowe]

i want to see this projector!

glad to have you back, jim.

[Pawel Achtel]

Thank you for the heads up, specially regarding 3D development. I look forward to see it soon.

[Häakon]

With you more than ever!

[Scott Miller]

So say we all!!

Our 3D projector has been seen by many of the top dogs in the industry. It appears, according to them, to be the single best and only way to view 3D... in the home or theater. This is the one. It is a huge leap. Maybe the difference between 3D dying and 3D being mandatory.

REDray is real. After a long development process... REDray will be released this year. It will be the highest quality image with the lowest data rate ever achieved in the history of man. We fully expect it to be the gold standard going forward.

ETA for projector ?
i thought that you guys said that the new policy was about ""talking about "" a product only when is ready to ship ... in this way (keep talking about months a months ahead ) you block the market and mess people decisions up (AKA should i wait ""forever"" or buy a Sony 4K that will ship in a couple of weeks ?)

[Mark Crabtree]

You had me at 4K.

[Tyson Benard]

All in Jim. I'm eagerly awaiting the moment when I can finally send my money in and get some awesome RED gear. That desire will only increase, so bring it on. We're waiting, and burning with excitement.

[Sanjin Jukic]

Great news!!!

And notning more important for the industry than is an IQ (Image Quality)!!!

That's exactly at the same thing at the same time before NAB I was writting about two years ago, than also repeated a year ago!

I was talking about a camera that should be able to "spit" images with IQ that equels or even can go beyond the latest film stocks.

Hopefully that RED is finally moving in that direction.

RED began in 2006 as a garage operation. We had 3 employees. Today there are over 500. Next year there will be over 1000.

Jim

That's big news. Great to see the capital coming in to allow for healthy growth...

[Nikhil Kamkolkar]

As one of the many new owners of a brand new Stage 4 EPIC-X, still on a Fedex truck or a plane enroute to the east coast, I can say, "Hell yeah! I'm with RED!"

Cannot believe this company has come into existence. Cannot believe I'm soon going to hold an EPIC-X in my hands. Hope to see some of you at REDUCATION NYC!

[Jeff Carpenter]

this is a great update...! really great to hear....!

[Jean Déraps]

Wow

(understatement)

[Harrison Diamond]

Jim, I've been following Red since just before Crossing the Line. You've made a high school student's pipe dream back then turn into a young man's reality when my Scarlet-X arrived today. All I know is that you know exactly what you're doing, even when you don't have a clue what's next. You're never going to stop innovating. That's why I'm a Red customer.

As much as I've been with the program over the last several years, today is the day I can answer this with conviction:

I'm with you.

[Nick Morrison]

Very curious about the Dragon Sensor...that's where my heart is...very excited to see the kind of images this beast will produce...I won't speculate, but I can only guess....

There are a fair few incredible companies who started like that. Apple comes to mind...
