  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

WTB: Canon EF 1200mm f/5.6 L USM

I can't remember the exact number Ketch, but I think there's either 6 or 9 of these available in the world. I know Panavision has one to rent that I believe was converted to PL.

B&H had one a while ago. Maybe they could let you know who bought it? Link#2

There was one on auction in 2008 in New Zealand, that didn't get sold. You might try getting in touch with them.

Ebay had a listing for one last year, based in Taiwan.

If one of those leads to you getting one, you owe me a trip to Dubai :)

He he, absolutely Martin... ;)

Problem is I already contacted all of them and no go, B&H reply to me that it had sold long ago, the ebay seller also had sold it, and so did the NZlander... ;)

But of course! That's why they would get it. We shall see how it all goes soon enough. :)

He he, I know, you were doing a great Job on the 800mm, and having used Super Telephotos for years in Still Photography as I told you, is not an easy beast to Hand Focus,
especially to track Birds on Flight, so again, I was haply surprise to see that you were doing a good job at it, with some hit and misses of course,
but with practice you'll be great at it... Now with the 1200mm, this gets even more difficult eh he, but also ever so exciting images to be captured, so happy shooting!!

Thanks or the encouragement. Practice with the 2x extender that way just the 1200 is a piece of cake. Hehe

Ah good for you. So I guess I'll stop my search. Was on the phone with a lot of huge canon resellers and trade show guys... nobody had one or knew about one. Only Canon Europe has a single one left, which of course they'll keep ... What country or how did you find it ? Email me if you like.

Good on you! Congrats :)

Joseph, you definitely have to take a picture of the EPIC stuck on the monster. :)
