  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Epic and Scarlet Build 2.0.5 released.

I ordered within a half hour of the buy button being active! where is MY scarlet!!!! How many got shipped? mouth is watering! heheheehhehehe!

Looks like Phantom power is gone in this build. Is is dangerous to use th ebuild that had phantom power? I am sorely needing it for my lgihtweight set-up.

Yes, please don't use phantom power yet.

We are using the Canon 17-40mm and the aperture was working for a couple minutes and then stopped. There are just two dashes where the aperture should be. We re-installed the firmware and it is still not working. We are rolling back to the release build now to see if that fixes it. Anyone else had this problem?

Reseat the lens Justin then reboot. make sure the contacts are engaged ( numbers show up ) before you lock down the 2nd lock ring. Sometimes you can put a lens in and its not seated correctly.

Thanks for the quick reply Jarred! As usual it was user error...looks like we didn't have the side handle seated correctly and that was causing the the problem. Nothing to see here folks, 2.0.5 is working like a dream!

Experienced a weird delay effect with motion, making everyone move like Max Headroom, so I recorded a clip when this effect started (just for testing purposes) and when trying to play it back the entire LCD went black. After a power cycle everything worked fine and the clip played back with no problems.

The big plus I like about 2.0.5 vs 2.0.2 is that for some reason the Canon L 600mm was not allowing me to change the aperture within the EPIC until we switched to 2.0.5

Thanks...

Mic's are only recognized when unplugging one of the 3.5mm jacks and then putting it back in. Un-pluging XLR (via 3.5 jack to XLR adaptor) will not work:(......

Same after reboot. All worked fine in Build 1.7.X

Thanks for telling me that, it's a major pain!

Hi Jim ,

Epic can't power up after hang . while shooting half way is happen, Tried to record on SSD card, timecode was running but in blue and no red recording indicator on top right corner. Played back footage from SSD card and Epic shuts down halfway. There is still power in the battery and the red battery indicator light is on but no way to power up at all.

bert.. contact support. They will help you through it.

I have been testing the new 2.0.5, and I have been talking to the support team with my feedbacks. Is there any thread for me to report my feedback/bugs about these alpha/beta builds? I'd like to contribute as I always try to, but also I'd like to learn things from other users that I might have missed.

I am having this exact same problem with my scarlet, except that mins has not worked correctly at all. I tried resetting and reseating the lens, but no change.

Also works if you unplug the audio output jack on the back panel, a bit easier if you have Action Products 15mm front end covering the audio!

I flagged this up to Red a day after 2.0.2 was released.

Justin can you adjust the aperture for canon L lenses thru the touchscreen and sidehandle?
