LOL, no 60p at 1080p. So basically this Canon camera can shoot 60fps only at 720p. Same specs as the HVX 200 from half a decade ago.

Hotshoe? It's a motion camera, not a stills camera.

completely disagree - I think it looks extremely compact - things are about to get quite interesting. I knew Canon would not release junk. Very curious about the price point. The compact form factor is going to have widespread appeal. Modularity has advantages - so does this....

Just because it's compact doesn't mean it doesn't look like a plastic toy.

Epic is just as compact if you go the side handle + redvolt route.

Maybe in three-five years, the follow-up might be something I would buy today, but this does not excite me in the slightest. It just seems more like an intermediary step towards what they want to do using what they were able to cobble together from their current portfolio. That's not really a step forward because it's too conservative to be ground-breaking from a technical point of view, which is classical Canon. That being said, I don't think Scarlet could disappoint anyone in any area of it's features or specs compared to this thing, except possibly for the naked price, which we obviously don't know for either one yet.
