We keep tweaking the rig to get this stuff right and we're pretty dialed in now. We've made plenty of changes in the last 4-5 months but we've got it down now.

Holy Crap!! Filed under: Why Didn't I Think of That??

BTS please!

Looking great Lee! Still jealous of your access to source material. Those locations are stunning!

lol…the secret is in the sauce.

No buddy - the secret is in the 100's of hours of work you put into the project that I would love to avoid by having you post the blueprints and instructions ; )

Lee this is almost surreal, the pacing you chose is far more interesting than the typical "floor the segway, leap off it" glory clip... this is haunting, drifting though the spanish moss and past the drill sergeant like some sort of spirit. Really amazing work my friend.

The Lake Martin piece is damn good as well.

Great work Lee. Loved the kids jumping in the water and the drift past the Sergeant.

Segways are banned on the roads and pavements (sidewalks) in the in the UK, which is shame. Stupid country I live in...

Hey Lee

Great work. I just received my X2 Turf along with the skinny wheels. I am just waiting for the Steadiseg bits to turn up so I can hard mount my Steadicam Archer 2 se on it. I have been using the segway on its own with the archer just to test it out, but it is really hard to steer without the proper steadiseg bits.

I also bought some KEN LABS k4 Gyros that mount to the Archer, and they are fantastic. If you ever want to share stories about the segway, send me a PM. I am based in Australia so there isnt any competition between us.

I also loved the kids jumping in the water shot. You have some balls to take a segway that close! Or someone with a big rope tied around yourself so you dont fall in.

Keep up the good work

maybe both: a big rope around the balls usually does the trick

+1 for the shot with the kids - looks stunning.

lol…..I laughed at myself when I was out there on the dock, thinking that I must be crazy. I think that my insurance agent would go into cardiac if he saw that.

So Lee after refining your process for a while now, which do you prefer, to use gyros or not?

Hey there. Nice work. How does the set up time and cost compare to steadicam? Is there a provision for shooting Don Juan for instance when leading actors? How does it do over uneven surfaces, ie a soccer field or up a grassy hill? Whats the max speed on that thing?

Cheers, again, good job,

Nick

The video doesn't work here, is there another link?

Thanks.
