  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

The times we love...

These are the times we love...

Sony announces a new 8K (4K actually) camera, a 4K home projector and some other stuff. We love it. Really.

These are the times of real action. Finally.

1080P has finally been exposed once and for all. It never was "good enough". God love Sony for helping to spread this message.

We just got wind of more 4K development from another "big dog". Love it. The industry has finally woken up. About time.

RED sits in the cat-bird seat. We have plenty of tricks up our sleeve. And our new developments don't force our customers to buy new cameras. Upgrades... that's what the future is all about. I just hope none of the "other guys" claim upgrades as something new when they finally start to offer them. That would really piss me off and fire me up... not that I need it.

If you invest in RED, you are investing in a philosophy. This philosophy was RED's from the beginning. Take care of the customer. Truly. EPIC-X is a perfect example. Just wait to see what's next.

Believe me when I tell you that the other guys are going to have to start running to keep up with us. A 14" wide camera isn't going to keep pace. Expect major leaps from us. And soon.

We have been waiting for someone to wake up. Apparently they did. Now the fun really begins... I am so excited about the prospect of a real business fist-fight that I can hardly stand it.

RED stands for passion and war. Armor up. Put your helmet on. The fireworks have begun. And the one that wins is the customer. Just the way it should be....

I love these times. We have been trying to pick a fight for 5 years. Finally we have one.

I am so happy...

Jim

RED STANDS FOR PASSION AND WAR....EXACTLY.....

You already have an incredible army of RED users and a great team - there's not going to be much of a fight. Sony, go pick on someone you can beat! (That's coming from me who's been a Sony camera op for 12 years! They've pissed me off too many times - RED I'm with you all the way!)

It's worth printing that quote onto a t-shirt or coffee mug.

It is so interesting to see the developments of the last couple of years!

The move to bigger sensors, the DSLR-video revolution, the shift to file based workflows, the move to more resolution.

And now the Red effect really comes into play. Some good competition to stir and speed things up even more.

Erwin

Check out my signature Martin. Ali is one of those people who stood for what he believed. You can disagree with him or call him a draft dodger but you have to respect those who don't always do things according to the flow, but move against it because of a deeper knowing within themselves.

This is a war I'd love to watch.
Is it going to be displayed in 4K 3D? LOL

The war started a long ago.

What RED would need promptly is upgrade of the new RED DRAGON CMOS Sensor with 14 stops DR.

The competition (Alexa and Sony F65) have got 14 stops DR already,

Although Alexa has 14 stops DR in 2K (only!!) but has it right now.

Sony F65 starts to ship in January,

that means is still enough time for RED to pull something like a native 14 stops DR sensor out of the sleeve.

Also don't forget that Panavision is a sort of Sony's sister company

and will get its own F65 variant like a Genesis 2 pretty soon.

Aaton Penelope Δ (Delta) digital 4K+Film acquisition hybrid camera probably will show its latest development at IBC.
