  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

August is nigh - anyone able to sleep?

I am hoping there will be an announcement (at least) sometime this month as to more accurate release dates, and pre-order dates. Maybe we could get some more info (such as weight or estimated prices on accessories) or some more teaser footage. That said, I'm in no hurry as it will be February before I can make my purchase anyway.

In my speculation and I've probably spread this amongst a few threads, personally September rather then this month,
This month has REDAlertX isn't it?

As for release...I'm pretty down with that November the 15th...sounds like a nice day...though why that particular day?
 
This is what happens when you create a loyal fanbase of future customers desperate to join the party. We get like an annoying younger sibling – always butting in and asking "are we there yet".

Speaking of annoying... I predict November 13th :devil:
 
August is Nigh and I expect very little to happen during it.

They may not have adjusted their delivery estimates but they also said they we would have plenty of time to prepare. <1 month is not plenty of time to get our ducks in a row. If the cameras were a month out we would know about them by now. I'm internally assuming we'll know the release date 2 months in advance.

I don't think RED's competition operates on those sorts of timelines.

I'll settle for a confirmation/update about shipping times...for the love of God Jim, the natives are getting restless!

You wont believe how many times I've flip flopped between the Scarlet S35 and 2/3 fixed options by now...

I'm hoping that most of the R1 owners get the Epic-X, leaving Scarlet for the hoi poloi...
 
We have said that much of the delivery dates rely on a successful ASIC spin. We have also indicated that we are not going to rush to release given market conditions and the overwhelming opinion of our customers to put out a finished product and not a prototype. I wouldn't expect any type of update for a couple of months. The schedule should be more clear by then...

while I'm sad not to have any new juicy info on the cameras, it is really nice to have some general idea of a time frame instead of thinking maybe it's just around the corner only to find it isn't and drag out the anticipation further than it needs to. Thanks for the heads up Jim!
 
Did the estimated shipping dates just disappear from the RED website? I though they were always under the detailed system specs...
 
I'm not getting any of those dslr cameras in the market , if you try red for ones you will be addicted to it , for me i'm waiting for a affordable one till then i'll keep renting.


Everything in life changes... including RED camera, we can wait take your time.
