If it wasn't for the EPIC being released in 2011, I'd buy a Red One MX right now.

The RED one was released 4 years ago. You could upgrade (and still can) a RED ONE to RED ONE M-X.
The RED ONE M-X was used to shoot "The Social Network", which was nominated for an Academy Award for Best Picture, Best Director and Best Cinematography in 2010. It was used on Pirates 4 which has grossed over $1B worldwide. It was used on "Contagion". It is being used on "The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo".
The RED ONE M-X is current. It is historic. It is a camera that continues to have value. You can shoot "greatness" today on a RED ONE M-X.

And probably coming up soon more affordable camera models that are actually the most desirable ones from many REDusers or even non Red users all over the world.
We love the RED ONE and will continue to support it like a Queen.

The R1 is also a perfect companion to the Epic
What are you expecting? 5k RED camera for free on a Lollipop?
The MX update was big, huge, great update. I adore my humble Queen RED ONE MX. She fits in a Think tank airport accelerated bag pack (the "Mini Cooper" of the bag packs) with all the accessories. She shoots pictures with a quality I can only call "royal". It´s great to hear she will always be supported. The newest support : RedcineX Pro, simply fantastic software who makes the Queen smile! Thanks, Jim!We love the RED ONE and will continue to support it like a Queen.
