What's the issue? We had something happen to us today on a shoot that halted a crew of 10. Not as big as 150 but still it was pretty scary. Our solution was changing the timebase and re-installing firmware. All smooth after that..

Thanks Mark for the support you are giving to our guys in set.....I am trying to get RED TECH TEAM to reach you on my camera guys phone number. Thks again

Can you guys get another M or Red MX? I know it isn't ideal but it will save your day.. With my Red MX, whenever I would get issues with bootup, I would click the power button, once a second, for six seconds, with the cable unplugged and that would always make it work. Something about resetting the capacitors. I don't know if the same applies to Epic. Disconnect everything and try AC power. I'm sure you've done all this though..

Thanks tried your suggestion.. no go.. :(

I had the same thing happen to me. The fan would turn on for one second and shut down. I just kept doing the force upgrade and it eventually worked. Scared me to death too. It hasn't happened again and I don't know what caused it. Hope it all works out.

SRY to ask, but do you have fresh batteries?
Know it is a silly question, but the Epic is touchy on voltage and batteries.

I once thought the thing had died totally on me, but it was just a couple of bad batteries (good for R1...) I had brought with me. Sounds a bit like this.

HI,
Batteries are new...and its not booting even with direct power.

I had this happen on a big commercial shoot once.

We put in the back up body and got the other one cooled down with some gel packs. It took about 20 minutes for the camera that went down to boot.

If no back up body. Just wait for it to cool or find a way to cool it.

That helped on an RED MX. But to me it sounds like heat. Try to get it cool.

EPIC

EPIC

Hi,
Was it on RED MX or EPIC-M?
Thks
Harcharan

Red MX on. Very hot set where the audio guys disabled the fans. They were rolling a lot of footage too. Not a lot of time between takes for the fans to do the job.

What's the heat situation on your set.

Also try to boot with nothing at all connected.

Check your PM

Is this resolved?

If any suggestion please post .

Thanks
Harcharan
