Laforet + EPIC + Canon Mount + 600mm

[Mark Toia]

I would have loved that mount a few weeks ago... had the perfect job for it. But the RED 300mm with a doubler served well.

That 600mm is my favourite big lens, I have one sitting next to my desk staring the the EPIC all day.
Nice work Vincent as usual.

Tell us the secret of getting all this prototype gear to test, You've got photos of somebody hi up in RED with a Goat.

kidding kidding...

[Mark Toia]

Also Vincent.. have you found away to get both 5 inche and BOMB working at the same time. ?

[Sam Taylor]

Thank you! This is what I have been waiting for! I have a bunch of long white canon lenses sitting here waiting!

[ryanpostas]

If and when you guys screen that footage in 4k..can you send an invite my way!!?

[Detlev Eller]

... sweet ... (!) ....

[Pascal Scheffers]

Awesome.

4k is 22.1 mm, or slightly more than 1.6x FOV crop, I see two extenders, right? so more like 3900 mm I'd say (35mm stills equivalent).

[Ketch Rossi]

NICE!!

We are definitely getting the Ti Canon mount asap as it becomes available, the Italian girls are waiting...

Hi Pascal! There is only one extender on the lens, the 2x. The rear of the 600mm extends quite far, and can look a bit like an extender is on there from a distance.

Are they waiting for the 600mm lens Ketch?!! I think you'll mostly be using shorter glass right?

They'd need to be on the other side of a jumbo-jet hangar to photograph them with that lens.

[Mark Andersen]

Vincent, Where did you shoot? That desert and sea BTS still looks like Baja to me.

Right you are, then it's half my number. Still it's only numbers - it's all in the pictures and how nice they are. *gobsmacked*

So beautiful! Like the images I am getting currently with stills, but this is the same quality for slow-mo 120fps moving images!

[Sam Taylor]

They'd need to be on the other side of a jumbo-jet hangar to photograph them with that lens.

And it begins to look more like paparazzi or stalking! Not so good!

[Stephen Pruitt]

This is terrific news to see the Canon mount working in the wild!

Looks like Mono Lake, Eastern Sierras

[Joe Kleber]

...So people are going to love this mount. It's going to be indispensable for many - and I'd wager one of the top selling accessories RED sells....

I would be doubling down on that bet.

[Michael Mayda]

Nikon mount! Pleeeeeeeeeease!

Sorry, had to vent...

[Franck De Togni]

NICE!!

Er... Ketch... Do you still have a place for an dp assistant? I like shooting italian girls ! :w00t:

BTW, thanks very much to Vincent for his work, his comments on the mount and the video !

[Matt Fleming]
