  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

RED Accessories...

not really - it seems like a very flexible product, and it was conceived through battle-testing.

Anyone who has already been through the RED ONE program should understand that accessories will fluctuate quite a bit in the first year or so of the rollout...I've been a little more methodical with tricking out my EPIC, because I'm earlier in the program than I was in the RED ONE program, where I was able to benefit more from others' experiences and recommendations. Even so, I'm sure I spent several thousand in accessories that I don't use for my RED ONEs.

Bring on the widgets, Jarred! We need more widgets and choices, not fewer. Keeping my fingers crossed for one particular widget, I'm sure RED won't let me down.
 
Every 3rd party that has contacted us along the way to make accessories for the EPIC-M were told, at that time, that the design would change so be prepared. Of course... some companies that are making stuff have never contacted us. Either way, its up to them to sort out how they deal with their customers.. most of the 3rd parties are really good guys so I am sure there will not be too much drama.

jarred, did you consider making and giving out a "red approved" seal of approval for 3rd party developers (maybe with serial/approval numbers for back checking) ? or did you already do that and I've just never seen one?
considering the problems which came up with the lens mounts and what not, this might help customers in the end.

as this would result in more work for RED I don't think you guys would want to do that, but still might be nice for us :)

Jarred,

For Euro customers, will it be possible to upgrade the camera via Red UK?
It's sometimes tricky to do temporary export to the US from France, after my MX upgrade, my camera stayed stuck in the customs for 10 days...

Let the predictions begin:)

My vote is for 15mm lightweight that attaches ti the Epic body, that way the quick release truly works, taking the Mattebox and follow focus mounted on your rods with you. Fingers crossed
 
i predict the david mullen button...makes everything look hollywood style no matter if the framing, light, location or the actor itself sucks.
 
Common team-Red!. . . I'm literally about to pull the trigger on a new swing-away mattebox and I want to be sure that that's not amongst the new Red goodies! (I'm pretty sure it won't be. . . but still. . .)
