  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

This is pretty cool stuff.

1. Turn on RACK FOCUS.

2. Touch the two points you want to rack between.

3. Press any assignable user button to rack between both points.

Yes. And btw this video was shot with Scarlet :)

There will be 3 ways to control speed... 1st is either a settable duration in the menus. 2nd via the pressure sensitive rocker button on the side handle. And last but definitely not least, via swipe speed on the touchscreen.
 
This is great. For me one of the big reasons to upgrade to Epic. For a single operator this is such a good feature.

In future firmware builds do you think we'll be able to set the speed of the rack focus?

So When...?

All this cool stuff your telling us, takes months to leak into the real world. So we are just curious mortals at the end of the day.

When are the Canon mounts coming out?... Very keen on those.

High speed... 300fps ?

More importantly Playback... (actually you told me that one already)

Quick times Proxies ? we need these urgently for on set shot confirmation, (or play back).. which ever comes first.

You keep showing us this cool stuff mate, You have to get hammered with the questions. :)

- Machined Canon mounts ( $2000 ) should start coming in end of June.. Cast ones ( $500 ) a few months after that.

- 300fps is out already :)

- Playback is coming... don't worry.

- Quick Time proxies need the Quictime Codec for Epic ( not done yet ) and then will be generated via RC-X.
 
Nikon mount close behind? ...I hope. :)
 
not as close as we all would hope.
 
OK... No worries, plenty of other glass to use.

As for the rack focus between points, will it always be linear, or will there be an option to weight it with a curve for ease in/out?

Jeff, the possibilities are endless... but there is only so much we can do right now.. but thank god for future firmware upgrades :)

Already have the Epic M, already have the Canon EF 70-200 f/2.8L II IS...

All I need is the Canon mount... ;)

This looks fantastic! :)
Curves and programmable racking for SFX-plates would be nice too. I see allot of great uses for this feature.
How far away was the Scarlet to achieve this DOF? :w00t:
