  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Group Buy for Kessler Crane "CINE SLIDER" 3' & 5' ;)

I know they say not to center mount the 5' but is the option available and then just restrict yourself to only using a couple of feet?

Not sure I understand the question Bryant, but yes you can mount the Slider on a tripod center mounted to the base of the slider, even so I will sure
not suggest this type of mount, always support the slider on two points, better smoothness and movement of the camera.

If this was not the question please explain.

I'm in for a 5'

You are in Mark, please send me your email, so that you can receive a Discount Code to order. ;)

Ketch, thanx for starting this group (and of course Eric Kessler for opening up for the discount). I have been looking at a cineslider for a while but don't want to do much invest before nab. You never know what NAB brings this year. Therefore Im happy to se you changed the ending date of the group bye to after nab!

I'm definitely in with this revised date :). I just can't decide between the 3" or the 5"...

The most popular is the 3" but here everybody wants the 5"? I like the idea to centermount only cause it make it more convenient to move around quick. With 5" you have to use 2 tripods to move it around, but for the extra hassle you gain more rails to travel. Is the extra length really worth the extra effort to move it around, thats the question?

CineSlider and ORACLE controller with motor.

I have been very happy with my Kessler Sineslider and Oracle system.

It will be even better weight wise with the Epic!

PM us for Red clip link!

Ketch, you can put me down for a 5' also, but I may need it sooner than when they offer the discount number. I may call them directly, but will mention this group buy.

Thanks for organizing this!

Thx!

Kevin

Do we need to decide upfront before being accepted as part of the group buy?

Cool Brad,

you can decide up to the last minute when you get the email with the discount code, that will be applied to your Cine Slider purchase, which this reminds me to tell you to PM me your email address ;)

The 3' is more portable, but the 5' has more range and a much higher production value.

Most welcome Joel, definitely the 5' is the better deal, and worth the extra size and support, you will get the extra 2' of travel that will make for much more dramatic shots.

Most welcome Kevin,

done.

Please PM me your email address so we can send you the discount code.

Kennan...
what are you using for support? - looks like still camera tripod legs.....I was thinking of some baby c stands at each end... how are you attaching your tripods to the slider?
thanks

Kirby, if you're not using their Hercules head they say to put your tripod/head at one end of the slider and use either another tripod OR a c-stand on the other end. I think this is especially necessary on the 5' version, obviously.

Kevin

5 inches is MUCH too short, Brad. Ha ha...I know you meant 5'. Just reminded me of the mini-Stonehenge in Spinal Tap. Hilarious.

5' opens up a lot more room. I doubt any of us will regret the extra length. I know you can probably remove it, but odd that their crank handle comes out over the track...thus cutting off a few inches. Even more reason to get longer than you need.

Kevin

Ha, thanks for that Kevin.

I'm actually going to admit something a little embarrassing in that I honestly didn't understand the difference between " and ' in regard to feet and inches. Being from Australia, everything is on the metric system here. I always thought it was just worked out based on the context inches or feet were written in.

Ha ha. Thanks for the tip ;)
