  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Realistic Hope?

Summer starts end of may here and ends in late august. But maby you have other span of month...

Thanks Joseph, then with some luck maby around august, september then.
Even thou I was really hoping for an april deliver=) Im very happy Jim gives a guessstimate date. This way I will not get disappointed for my super optimistic deliver guesstimate.

Deposits. Hmmm...

Are you guys expecting Scarlet to need a deposit?

I'm sort of hoping they'll just release it like any other product. Then they deliver based on time of order.

I'm sure there have been tremendous costs developing these photographic tools, but the situation is quite different now from when RED One was being pitched.

Anyway.... "end of summer" sounds "beyond great".

I was planning shooting a doc with it in august and a ZERO-G flight next fall. I can't use an old tape cam in 0 G. I think I'm screwed.

After these two deadlines, I'll wait 2012 before getting a RED cam. :mad2:

Scarlet or Epic-S, don't know yet.

Think how fast 2010 went (like every year), and then think, this time next year, we'll all be able to buy a Scarlet with minimal to no lead time. That's pretty crazy.

Although, the "End of Summer" wasn't said for the first EPIC's to be released. The last word for the EPIC-S early shipping was set for May. Jim was referring to people at the very back of the line...

I would be happy if I was in the end of the line since I dont
have a redone. Then I atleast would be in the line. Thats why this predict
Was so interesting for all of us outside the line.

Joseph is there any ROUGH idea what a basically-configued Epic S will sell for?

Summer

Summer

I was hoping for an earlier release, summer is big for production...longer days, good light, weather and lots of work...

I know the RED team is doing magic, and I'm very happy with the Red One, but END OF SUMMER!!!!

That's a hard question. Almost as hard as predicting the date that it will be released. There are so many variables yet to be released (let alone, finalization within the leadership at RED.

Things can easily get misquoted here, but I believe I'll need to spend about $20,000 for a comfortable setup according to my needs. I have recently pretty much decided go this route over a couple of Scarlets for the same price.

Snap. Though it gives me more time to save up and purchase the camera next year, I guess its good news really (for me)
