  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

EPIC... ready.

This is all great but...

Whats next? I gotta have something to complain about you guys not shipping fast enough!

Don't worry though, there is an SSD adapter that turns CF cards into an SSD mag so you can still use all your CF cards in either the side SSD or read SSD modules.

And of course all RED monitoring options already work on EPIC.. the existing EVF, 5" and 7" LCDs as well as the new touchscreen monitors and of course the Bomb EVF. Plus 1080 HD-SDI and HDMI outputs on the brain.

Great News on the SSD adaptor! Perhaps down the road we could have an adaptor with a buffer that'll enable the use of off the shelf fast high capacity CFs.

5. How much more does the FCC have to approve? This has been really hard to gauge.
6. Is it really possible that Mark P and say the first 25-50 will be shipping in the next 7 weeks? i.e before year end?
7. Jim said there will be 13 Tattoos woking on features soon and getting real world feedback that ultimately can influence the build. OR, is the RED testing so complete (all the rigorous late nights) that you guys feel its ready for any feature? (Im assuming yes here).

The goal of this post is to try to gauge realistic expectations as to WHEN we need to have $ ready. With an end in sight, rough estimates (that may be missed) will really help some of us FISCALLY PLAN.

How much lead time will we have? Is this basically 60 day notice? 90 Day notice?
NAB NOTICE?

Having a RED ONE in the 1st 100 makes me optimistic... and GRATEFUL I jumped the line 2 years ago... but what does this all mean relative to schedule Jim? Sure, it can change, but are you at the point where you can bracket within a month? a week or two?

GREAT, GREAT NEWS....YOU CAN BE PROUD OF WHAT YOU DO..

- Can we expect to order Stage 3...before 2011 ?
- If I understood Jarred well the 1x Side CF Module was replace by the SSD module on EPIC X for the same price ?

and

- This great new about EPIC may explain the delay for our MX program ?

just hope ssd mags will be abundantly available as well when epic ships:-P
 
I'm definitely going to remember remember the 5th of November! Wow I cannot wait to someday own one but will own a Scarlet the second she's available. Well done Jim & team, WELL done!

Can anyone give a quick executive summary of this thread? If I have Stage 2 #352, when might I expect the Epic?
