Coming soon are three new settings you will want to know about.

REDcolor2- more natural color with a bit less saturation than REDcolor.
REDgamma2- more "filmic" looking instant grade. Highlights roll off more smoothly than REDgamma. This is now my default setting.
REDlogFilm- This the the REDlog replacement. It is the flattest image and holds the absolute maximum dynamic range seen by the sensor. It is a grader's dream. Info you thought wasn't there will magically appear.

The best part of shooting RAW is the ability to open old files and have them look brand new again... and better.

Legacy settings, like REDspace, REDcolor and REDgamma, are still available. But you will want to look closely at the newer ones.

nice... cant wait to see.

Yummy.

Love when you are working on the weekend. Thanks... Yet again.

There was a time a few years ago when I loved my Varicam... It gave me a good option to the high cost of my Arri 2C shooting film...

Hard to say thank you enough for what you guys keep doing and doing and doing.

Thank you.

You are offering these things to update the same camera instead of "programming and burning into the processor like digic and make us want to buy the new camera".

This is the kind of thing I have to explain to my clients. Every time you make it better, some pathetic people think it wasn't "complete" nor "efficient" nor "out of beta". As much as we don't want RED to be like other brand, probably needs a clever ways of explaining the good things going.

Normally, people purchase software, then things get better and company offers upgrade, you pay for the upgrade and people are happy with new features. But RED does not charge for software upgrades.

Car companies like Toyota, always come out with new model, just by changing the front grill or something, then the last years model just depreciates in value.

Normal camera companies would just include the limited features to a camera model that they could release at that time, then if they come out with new feature, they put that into a new model, and don't get complained.

That's the benefit of raw, Jonas.

Redcolor 2 is the one that draws my immediate attention. Always thought Redcolor was a little too dazzling. The other two additions sound good as well.

Let's see how fast The Foundry can adopt these into the STORM public beta release in Nov.

Redlog Film has me the most excited, outstanding stuff. Funny, I recently applied the latest color science to some footage from the M sensor and cant believe how much better it looked (and at the time I was super happy).

thanks Graeme and team RED, this is very exciting news!

As someone currently considering what may come to pass as a new tide of large sensor cameras, this sort of announcement from RED (especially with such a history of improvements and amongst other benefits) speaks volumes.

Thanks in advance for all the hard work and the gratis delivery.

Agreed Tim.
After seeing some of the Alexa footage I kind of thought it had an edge over RED ONE
in terms of dynamic range. After playing with Redlog Film I'm not so sure if that's the case.

Whatever the case I'm very happy with the way highlights are extended using the REDlog film setting.

The level of improvement RED gives to it's products is unprecedented, period.

Look forward to seeing the new REDCOLOR2 and REDGAMMA2.

Hi

These are 2 versions of the same frame, original m sensor. Is there a way to hold this window details in one cc, without luma key?
