Trust me when I tell you that we want you as a customer. I'm up at 3:40am in the morning to win you over. What we are doing is incredibly complicated. No other camera company has attempted to do it.

Jim

I guess it's also good, the other way round: We want you as 'the company'!

Jim,
I think it is amazing how you are packing all these features into cameras this inexpensive. It does bring up a question of mine though. Is there a point that you decide to stop adding features to the first release so that you can get the product out the door? I ask because I am guilty of tweaking things to eternity and always want to make my projects better. At least for Red you can add things in the future to keep it on the cutting edge, for me once my project hits it's deadline I have to let it go whether I'm done tweaking or not.

My sense is that when Jim says he's "adding features" what he is actually referring to is what tech people would call "integrating features", meaning that the work has already been "done" and they are now at the point where they are bringing existing work together into a single, integrated unit. This can either go smoothly, or it can be an absolute hell, or anything in between. It depends very much on how the software/hardware is architected and how much integration work has been done up until now.

I suspect that what has Jim so excited now is seeing the various sub-projects coming together into a working Epic camera. If everything continues going well, I expect we'll see Stage 2 Epics in the wild this fall.

Any news??

I'm following the incredible red project from start, I'm stage 4.
I Hope this is the right time to be Epic owner...

The sting will come…

I'm betting on an announcement on or before the 23rd Aug, since Canon are due to announce their new "RAW" DSLR on the 24th, (or will they announce a new photocopier!).

Perhaps you could attach a 35mm adapter to a polaroid that is subsequently scanned by the photocopier.

The way of the future.

PS: I hope something is announced by then!

Vá dormir...
Cheers,

The several month lull is just about over... so pay attention. :-)

Things should start picking up from now on and over the next couple of months.

Jim

Superb!! I'm hiring cameras at present and it cuts in to my profits. :emote_headwall:

Looking forward to the release of the Scarlet's and Epic's to new customers. Most likely a bit too late for any jobs this year, unless you can tell us anything different????

More like a "lull"aby , because the knowledge that more news is coming, quite frankly is music to my ears! :coolgleamA:
