  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Zoom H6 optimization

I dunno if this is any help at all or if anyone already mentioned this - but I have had great results using the Pix240i - which acts also as a pro rez recorder. For easy and good results in my case with a 416 - no complaints.

I've heard great things about the pre-amps on the f8. I'll likely be making the move up.

It's a shame though, I just bought this one. Good thing about the F8 is that I could strap on the stereo mic from my H6, which means I can stil record atmospherics, together with timecode phantom powered recording.
Hmm, will look into this.

I'd love to know how the F8 performs in the field. I picked up the H6 last year and it's been an okay alternative when there's not a sound person. I hear you about the hiss. I've found recording it pretty hot, as others have noted, helps quite a bit. For the price the F8 makes sense, provided the preamps are good enough. Seems to have most of the features. Dual level recordings. Lots of i/o, and of course TC.
