I am waiting on my own Scarlet Dragon, but in the interim, have been using a friend's Epic on some corporate-type jobs. While I've attained usable scratch audio for syncing to the H6 tracks, I want to get the great quality on the RED that others have gotten with a good degree of consistency. I've researched this nearly to death and find myself going in circles, so I'm posting here.
I'm running one or two Sennheiser g3 lavs into a Zoom H6, from there I split the line-out to the RED and to one or two Canon 5Dmkiii's. All cameras receive mic-level, so an attenuator ahead of the 1/8"mini splitter makes the most sense to me, but by how many dB should I be attenuating? What cable is the right part? Out of the H6 line-out splitter to the RED, what makes the most sense to get the signal into the balanced 1/8" inputs? Going 1/8"-to-XLR to an A-Box, or just staying 1/8" mini from the splitter to the front of the camera? If it's the latter, what is the correct part (would have to be 6'-15' in length).
Any input/guidance would be huge. Thanks.
