My new Epic is being shipped soon and I was looking for an affordable solution to upgrade my lenses. Currently I have a set of Nikkors. I like those lenses, but Zeiss would be a different class.
I am wondering if I should wait and save up for the CP.2s or invest in ZE or ZF models sooner (with full cine mods at $250 each)?
There is no optical difference I know, but is it worth investing $4-5K in ZE and ZF with Canon / Nikon mounts OR is it wise to wait and just get a set of CP.2s with interchangeable mount system? Most importantly PL mount for film work.
Waiting might be detrimental as I don't want to lose gigs which I might get owning good glass (plus shooting good material of my own on good glass), however, then I might be locked into ZE and ZF mounts, a NON PL mount. Most of my work is in films, but am branching out to commercials and documentaries with some music videos and interviews..
Anyone got their 2 cents regarding ZE / ZFs with cine mods?
