We have a set of Zeiss T2.1 Standard Speed primes that will
arrive this week. They are newly serviced and very late types (made
after 1996) with geared iris rings as well as focus.
The lenses have perfect glass and will undergo final checks in our shop
on the autocollimator and lens projector. Any service required will be
done with factory-correct parts and lubricants.

Here is the set:
16mm T2.1/PL
24mm T2.1/PL
32mm T2.1/PL
50mm T2.1/PL
85mm T2.1/PL
Carry case.

Post 1996 Primes

Post 1996 Primes

Good question. My assertion stems from the fact that I bought a complete set of T2.1 primes from Arriflex in 1996 and they were NOT equipped with iris gears. They looked exactly like lenses I had bought in the 80's while in the rental business. So the iris gears are necessarily a later development.

As for the "West Germany" markings, well, people are slow to change, especially in manufacturing. Isn't that why RED is cleaning Sony's and Matsushita's clocks ?

6 years is really slow......like DMV slow

Hey Charles,
Are you sure you didnt buy left over inventory in 1996. I thought they stopped making these years before. I could be way off...just curious though.

BTW- The lenses look beautiful...not too often that you see these with the geared iris ring.
