Hi, I have a set of geared PL mount Zeiss primes, made by Arriflex.

The set consists of

16/2
24/2
32/2
50/2
85/2

The lenses we collimated and tested by Duclos Lenses in California. The glass is in great shape and these lenses would be great for any RED owners out there.

The 16, 32, and 50 are metric and the 24 and 85 have standard markings.

I am asking $15000 for the set.

I also have a 40mm that I will make available, but it does not have a PL mount installed.

I don't know exactly the name of the line. I was told they are an older version of the standards. The glass is essentially the same, but the housing are different.

These are early Pre-PL mount, bayonet Standard Speeds. The important thing is weather or not they have the "T*" multi-coating. It appears from the photos they do not, so they are not the same as the PL versions although some bayonet sets were.

Just to be clear here, they have PL mounts and can shoot 4k or whatever you want. I have used them on my Red for shooting before.

I see ldill is checking these out.

Would these really be any better (or even as good) as my Contax Yashica Zeiss lenses Distagon with T star coatings?

25mm f2.8
50mm f1.4
85mm f1.4
300mm f/4

about $2200 on the used market

Cover full frame slr so shooting the center sweet spot on a RED. And these lenses have very long, very smooth focus throws in the normal cinema direction.

I have been using them on my early birger mount in "dumb" mode for 8 or 9 months.

35mm f1.4 is also available - but fairly expensive on the used market $700-800 but still cheap compared to cine lenses.

Still availible

Dave,

I hope this helps you estimate their value. We bought the same set with coatings, pl mounts and gears for about $7k 4 months ago. They're typically selling for about $1400+ a lens with the pl mount, gear, collimated and cleaned. We love ours, but they aren't the sharpest set and they do breath. We shoot a lot of spots and VFX elements on them, but typically rent the S4s when we need uber quality. They are great lenses for the price and shoot a great picture. Besides the breathing and hidden focus marks(behind the gear) they work great for the Red, but most DPs turn their nose up at them and focusing is only about half a turn. Should we call them Mk 0.5's?

Price update.

:poster_oops:Everything's getting crazy, those 2nd lenses suppose left in the basement, but right now become like the diamond.
I don't think DOP will accept use kind of lenses for feature film or commercial shooting,
may be that's the great idea for those documentary or indie short film...

Cheers
