I know one DP with a set of these, and other than his, this might be the only set like this anywhere. These lenses were once Zeiss Jena medium format still lenses. The lenses were then cine-modified to include stainless steal PL-mounts, permanent focus gears and de-clicked aperture rings. Also all lenses except the 30mm have matching 80mm fronts which makes them very user friendly when using a matte box.
These days the term "future-proof investment" comes up a lot. These lenses are quite future proof considering they not only cover FF 35mm, vista vision and RED's new 8K sensor, they also cover medium format sensors that dwarf FF 35mm stills sensors. This will be a safe investment and will survive all the new cameras and increasingly larger sensors in the foreseeable future.
Optically, the lenses have a beautiful, creamy, lower contrast look typical of vintage lenses of this era, especially when shot wide open. Mechanically they are very robust with barrels made of aluminum and brass and steal PL mounts. Most of the lenses have a long 300 degree focus throw.
The 30mm is an Arsat lens. Russian glass from the same era matched up pretty well with the Zeiss lenses (It's almost impossible to find the Zeiss 30mm). The 50mm is an older single coated Zeiss Jena. The 80mm, 120mm, 180mm, and 300mm are all multi-coated Zeiss Jena lenses and are very hard to find in such good condition.
