I am looking for a used Zeiss High Speed T1.3 lens set
HTML:
MK II-MK III
HTML:
(in meters), in mint condition within Europe.

Nicos, go for a set of Zeiss Super Speeds MKII.
They have both metric and imperial scales and should be 3/4th of the price of a set of MKIII.

The prices in the EU are a bit lower than prices in the states too.

Now the "mint" condition might prove to be the hardest part of all. With proper service by a lens tech, you should be okay with a "good" set of lenses. I own one of the best set of MKIIs in Los Angeles, even then I would not consider them "mint."

You can see results for those lenses in the SALT III tests.

That should give you a good idea of how an excellent set should perform on the projector at the lens tech. A decent base for comparisons at least.

Best of luck.

Hey gents, before any late night La Cienega violence goes down-- Will said he owned the best set of Mk II in LA, not Mk III ;)

haha, this is the first time I have to go back and quote myself. Let me further that line since at the time of posting I wasn't going into great detail.

Paul Duclos, at Duclos Lenses, LA, said my set was one of the best he'd seen in years. Since a lot of us trust his expertise on lenses, I did the smart thing and took his word and bought the set. We then conducted the SALT III tests for the fastest cinema glass available with the most knowledgeable lens guys I could find on RU, we got to see the set put through it's paces. Our 50mm had extraordinary marks and earned some well deserved phrase from the guys for a MKII set of super speeds from the late 70s early 80s. I've had customers request that single lens alone to rent for months at a time. It's a gem.

Would I trade up to MKIII? No. My next step will be to explore another lens set and sell the MKIIs. We've had our time in the sun and experience is much more valuable than hording.

Nicos, sorry for the minor thread jacking, hope you can at least appreciate a free bump.

If i may ask, whats the difference with Mark ii and iii? optics are the same and the mechanics are different no?

Thanks a lot Will for your replay. The SALT III test it is very helpful. As for the difference or similarities of the MK II and MK III sets, I use them both and I can't really say that there was any difference except the more clear markings in the MK III set. I will come to agree with you about the ''mint'' condition. The use of this word is very relative, everybody uses it and means something else, but a good service of a set like MK II or MK III its absolutely necessary. The difficult part is to find a set like it in Europe and in ''good'' condition. I am will keep looking. Thank you all very much.
