Just checking in on the CP.2 Super Speeds as they enter the market this October. Is this lens completely redesigned or is the glass the same, thus the reviews of CP.2s still validate the CP.2 Super Speed Glass and characteristics?

This lens set is headed in the right direction. Fast. Compact. Affordable. Still looking at the quality of the glass. Takes time to watch enough content. Is it possibly too good to be true? We can only hope.

Anyone hear if RED is going to give their primes another go? Smaller, faster, probably not cheaper.

Thanks Alan. So the set is of three pieces now? Probably get more over the next year to fill the set?

I doubt there will be more super speeds. All are based on their stills counterparts, and there are no 1.4's left in their stills line. Also I own a set of 2.1 CP2, and though they are good, espacially for their price I find them too soft and too much CA when used wide open, so the 1.5's will be worse (since they are CP2's opened up.) Can't say anything for the 35, since it is a new design. The 85 is stellar though, even at 2.1.
