This weekend I finally got around to shoot a rather informal test with all the Contax Zeiss lenses I happily own.
This is by no means a perfect condition test, but was made more to give me an indication of the different lenses' optical performance in real life circumstances.
If anyone has a spare resolution chart, feel free to ship it to me ;) In return I'll promise to repeat the test under more controlled conditions.

I'll make some posts in the coming days (or weeks, depending on work load), but the first installment is now online on my blog, where I compare the optical resolution of the lenses at f5.6.

Nice lenses aren't they?

I have the 85 1.4 50mm 1.4 25 2.8 and 300 F4 that have used on the red/birger mount with a contax/eos adapter for over a year.

You really learn what microcontrast is all about when you use these lenses.

I have an extra 50mm f1.4 if anyone is interested.

I told you so.
lots of nice optics in that line. The 21mm is amazing. The little 17-35 zoom is very good. The 55 and 85mm f1.2's are as good as any cine lens and the macros are excellent. And the there is the 200mm f2 when combined with the 1.4x and the 2x mutar extenders give you a 200mm f2, 280mm f2.8 and a 400mm f4 all in one case.

One more thing, almost all the lenses in the Zeiss/Contax series focus "cinewise"
