Zacuto EVF Review

[Jon Chema]

Recently reviewed an EVF for Zacuto USA. Love the thing and feel that it works great with the Red One and Epic.

Has anyone else used it and if so what are your thoughts on it as a viable professional solution?

Thanks Jon, how useful/good is it for focusing?

Just my thoughts,
I have to say it's very very good the zacuto EVF for RED epic.
I highly recommend it.

pluses
1 you can get double expanded focus
2 Peaking to my eyes look good
3 more comfortable eyecup
4 Big image (feels more like alexa EVF)

minus
1/2 can't power from camera (not really bothering me actually)
1 HDMI (no SDI)

Pretty good. The resolution is pretty high for how small the thing is- plus it has peaking!

Agree- wish they made an SDI version

Soon Atomos will come our with a part that snaps into our batter compartment and then a battery goes into that which will make our EVF have SDI.

Fantastic! Thanks for that info Steve. Other than that- I can't get enough of the EVF. You guys definitely outdid yourselves with this product!
