Here's some pics of some Zacuto accessories for the RED including a nice new EVF mount kit that is very versatile and far less expensive than other options. This is an improved version of what was discussed here in the past week or so. Lots of available adjustability and no danger of the rig collapsing or the EVF falling loose from the camera. Perhaps not for everyone, but certainly a quality alternative at a great price. Can be rigged for 15mm or 19mm top rails. Available from Zacuto or Abel Cine Tech.

I expect some royalties Mitch! ;)

p.s. I have my EVF is set up exactly like this currently. A zmount on the EVF and a end cap on a short rod, it's absolutely rock solid.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I see no way to mount the EVF lower than the top of the body with this solution ... so no EVF in hand-held mode (?)

you could do it with a zmaerican arm, i.e. isareli arm, but you still have to loosen a knob that is up and out of the way, so its a 2 hand operation.

the real beauty of the ET is adjustability. not saying the zacuto is a bad way to go, just not the fastest, but it is less expensive. You have to figure out for yourself, do I want to be able to work quickly on the fly and pay about twice the price or do I want to save the cash and have to take a little longer to set up the viewfinder everytime I change the shooting angle.

Hey Mitch, what do I ask for if I want to order this? After using the RED arm today again for my EVF I decided that I MUST HAVE another solution as the arm just is a pain in the butt.

Matthew

I think there will be a name for the kit by Tuesday! Available to mount to either 15mm or 19mm top rod (one or the other).

How about the Prevette mount? And I'll ask Zacuto to give you the same amount for every one of your ideas they use as they give to me for mine. Strike that -- ten times as much.

Sorry, I haven't gotten anything. :)

I like this picture , but question is "In this position of LCD what cabel i need to use , to connect LCD

Red makes LCD cables in 2', 6' and 10' lengths. The LCD ships with a 2' cable. You can also have someone else make a custon length cable.

Well, one could always double up the assembly to add a second knuckle point to drop the viewfinder to any height you wish. The brilliant thing about Zacuto is that it is configurable to just about anything you want (much like RED).

That is indeed the one. I should have merged my responses from one post to the other. I was looking to make a "name it after Mike" joke.

The ZRED Mount Kit can be purchased now from Abel or Zacuto.

I prefer their beefy arm solution.
