  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Zacuto Clearance

Is the Jeep a true rod adapter? I wonder if all 3 types of rods are lined up correctly with each other. In other-words will it let me use a 15mm mattebox with my 19mm baseplate?

I have a Jeep. It is a great part. I use it on my ringlight, so it can work with any camera.

Here is a great image from ET on rod positions for anyone interisted:

Yes it was engineered by Zacuto to be just that. I've seen pictures of a jeep being used to use a 15mm lightweight follow focus with a 19mm studio rod system. Granted, it might not work with your larger diameter lenses. However, it is the proper spacing for 15mm lightweight, 15mm studio, and 19mm studio configuration

It is ever so slightly off between 15mm & 19mm studio. It works as an adapter from either of these to 15mm lightweight, but may have issues with studio to studio.

In fairness to Zacuto, it has to be slightly off because the rods would otherwise overlap.
