Hi,

i want to built up a new Hackintosh with a Z820 and 2x6Core with 2,0 Ghz (32GB Ram). This machine costs about 2300 Euro. The question is how to get more power for the same money... maybe an own built 6-core with a higher cpu rate (i7, 3930k 6x 3,2ghz) is more powerful in After Effects/Premiere?

What you guys think?

Fabian haha hey, you can not resist without hackintosh;)
I think the question is: do you want 3 pcie-16x-speed or you stick to 2.
It depends on the work you have to do, if you use Davinci personally I recommend the 8-core dual processor.
Hp Z820 or dell t7600.
If you do not use often davinci, then the choice i7 3930 to be more than just good.

1 pcie 16x - Gui card
2 pcie 16x - Cuda card
3 pcie 16x - Redrocket-x or free for cyclone expasion.
4 pcie 8x - Atto card
5 pcie 4x. Blackamgic 4k extreme;)

Hey Luigi,

hehe.. yes i cant work without my hack. It's because we're in a full OSX environment. Theres no need/place for windows. Thanks a lot for your links, the CPUs are very cheap!! If i want to buy this cpu from a german reseller, the price is about 1200 Euro per piece. But maybe its better to buy a supermicro or Asus board and put two of them on it? The DELL T7600 (empty) seems a bit expensive... without ram, gfx, etc.

And i don't do anything with Davinci... i only want to have a good performance in Premiere/AE/RedcineX with RED Epic and MP4 clips. Thats it.

My idea...

- 2x Xeon CPU Socket 2011
- Supermicro Board
- 32GB Ram
- Nvidia 680 GTX 3 GB
- SSD 256 GB for OSX
- 3x 2TB Raid-0 to work
