YouTube goes HD

Even if it's not HD, at least it brings out some detail, so you can read small text and so on.

I've uploaded two GTA IV vids in (real) 720p and they show up as HD.

yeah, for some reason you have to upload a 720p file in order for youtube to stream it in 480.

They must be resizing them and saving a few bucks on bandwidth and storage. Their costs are insane already.

Vuze is going the right way, using p2p technology.

p2p will solve the bandwidth problems in many areas in the future.

Yes, it's closer to 480p. But I'd upload at least 720p, better 1080p. Nobody knows what they'll offer in a year or so. Since there's no replace function you'll lose posts and views.
But there're some bugs, many users complain about audio sync issues. Some videos are working fine in sd but audio is out of sync in hd or the hd video is shorter. I uploaded a bunch of videos a month ago and everything works fine, last week I've uploaded a second bunch with same quicktime settings and got sync issues in hd.
