Thought it would be fun to see what people have done in terms of workstations..

I dont do post, too much.. I do write and produce music as a hobby (electronica- dance, hip hop, house, trance, d&b, ambient, and whatever)

but I have a studio that can facilitate a pretty good edit, post sound, recording so on.. I have the control room as you can see and a live room behind the glass that is currently a storage place for all my film gear:)

This one is about 7 years old.

Im thinking about eventually creating a little color facility, projector and screen and such.. Im kinda into it..

anyways.. would like to see other set ups for new ideas:)

These are our two workstations. They are right in the middle of my office right now but are currently in the process of moving them to a dedicated room that we are outfitting.

Yeah! I built your black desk. Thanks again for the plans. The black desk works wonderfully, and it cost less than $100 to make.

No problem I am glad it worked for you.
I need to get around to building a second smaller version for our other workstation that's on the four foot folding table.....

The big screen is just a samsung, nothing special. We have a panasonic in the other room that we can route the output of the computers to.

As for the desk I looked at a bunch of nice edit desks and tried to incorporate the things I liked (shape, bridge, rack spaces). I don't know about the $100 I think it cost me $300 to $400 but I suppose if you cut on the wood and laminate and rack stuff you could get it down.

If anyone wants the drawings (dwg) they are here:
www.cgllc.com/desk/

For the surfaces I used 2 layers of 3/4" MDF glued and screwed together to get it thick and then laminated the top and painted the edges. I put 2 3/4" unistrut bars under the main surface to minimize flex. The rack bays are out of 3/4" MDF just primed and painted. The legs are x2 3/4" x 6" (i think) poplar boards glued and screwed together and painted with some black speckly spray paint for texture.

If anyone wants any more info just let me know.

Any chance you could share the plans in another format, the .dwg file went nuts in Illustrator, perhaps a pdf file would be cool.
