It's not a one-way street any more – Color here we come!

Now I am reconsidering grading in Color..

screw color.. I'm using DaVinci

Jay

Oh yeah.. Will be there a windows version? I am preparing to buy a new PC for CS5, and if there will be a windows version for DaVinci, I'll make sure my PC will meet DaVinci's requirements..

It seems that you will need a lot more than $995 if you want to grade R3D's natively on DaVinci?

well you can grade R3ds natively in premiere pro, with a few 32bit plugins like, colorista and boris continuum 7 64bit. the interface may not be the greatest but PPro cs5 is 32bit internal float, 64bit memory, GPU accelerated. honestly thats 75% way more powerful than a Davinci or lustre So the rest is up to you, build a powerful computer with the newly announced WD 10,000rpm 640 drives with a dedicated raid card, a geforce gtx285 card, lots of ecc ram, and an hp dream color. if you do have a red rocket, bam just export your time line XML into redcine X, since you are working native you can grade with the new upcoming version it has all new plugin modules, you will be able to use your favorite plugins right in REdcine X. This Nab just gets better and better
