Editing Red Epic Dragon 6k is nice and smooth for me. going to ask maybe a dumb question but Is the editing the same with the Komodo meaning they are both on the same codec? I shoot 6k WS. trying to figure out if it worth getting the Komodo to be my match up camera with the Epic. Looking at a couple of used one at the moment.
 
Dragon still uses Wavelet compression, whereas Komodo uses the new DCT based compression (like ProRes), which is a little friendlier to your computer. You should find it plays back smoother than DSMC2 footage, depending on resolution and compression ratio/quality of course.
