Have occasionally been having trouble with certain areas of the skin having a distinct yellow coloring. I believe it's to do with certain types of makeup under specific lighting conditions, however it's very hard to pinpoint an exact cause/solution, as this skin tone problem has reared it's ugly head spontaneously on different shoots. It doesn't seem to be as pronounced with other cameras that I tested under the same conditions. Anyone have experience with this and have a more sound solution?

Here's the thread http://www.reduser.net/forum/showthread.php?55659-Makeup-showing-up-with-greenish-hue#post730116 - Deanen chips in here - http://www.reduser.net/forum/showthread.php?55659-Makeup-showing-up-with-greenish-hue/page7

Tungsten & make up (certain types). One thing could be (if you use the same make up artist) that there powder/make up is the same. Or maybe one that's popular with the make up artists at the moment? (I'm sure they're as bad as we are for following trends and using the latest stuff :)

Did you have any daylight balance issues?

Thanks for the reply. Some good insight in that thread. I was shooting tungsten. Will try going more the daylight route next time I encounter that problem and see if it helps.

@ Andy

Thanks for the link great 'heads up" . I've been shooting with HMI's but have an upcoming project with Tungsten. The takeaway message seems to be gel the tungsten, or filter the lens & talk with your make-up people before hand & WB on set.

Tests with color-correction in post can be a godsend with questions like this. I have yet to find an issue with skintones that we can't solve to some degree with secondaries on any full-featured color-correction system. The biggest torture test is usually mixed lighting, but I have seen some issues with LED lights that create sort of an unstable, nonlinear color spectrum. There's been a lot of discussion about this on the Cinematography Mailing List.

@Mike & @Chris

Glad the thread was useful, it was something I was reading last year and it stuck in my mind (small, though my brain is - LOL!).

@Marc - nice link, thanks.
