did a shoot this last week with mx sensor.. noticed a yellow line down the center of the footage in the tiffs i printed out through redcine x and redalert..

its not in the wrapper quicktimes.. so im pretty sure im safe..

just curious if anyone has seen this?

glitch?
not the right updated software?

Contact the bomb squad rep for that camera. There are some steps that can reset the camera if it's just a bad calibration, but if it's something more serious, then it'll need to be sent in. The quicktime Proxies are not representative at a 1:1 level of the footage. Like you said, you have to open the files in REDCineX and set the drop down to Full and pan around your footage.

On the post side, removing a line is rather easy. Wire removal in AE can get rid of something like this with minimal effort.

I would make sure the owner of that camera knows to contact RED.

I had something like this once with non-MX footage. A few clips had a white line down the center. Deanan made me a special version of Rocket Cine X that got rid of it.

I think he said it was an issue with error correction or something.

It only happened once and it was able to be fixed in software so all good.

yeahhhh... not fun stuff..

working on the fix through sean.

It was a quick shoot. looked fine on the quicktimes.. which arent a good representation of the r3d (especially in mx)
my checksum looked all good...

didnt have time to scrub the footage through redcine x to catch it..
it was 2 hour shoot.. and as i was backing up one drive.. the next was on.. so by the time the next was done... I was just then able to actually look at the footage.. unfortunately our talent was there for only 2 hours then had to split.. so either way. it would have boned me.

The effected clips that I had a problem with were uploaded to RED's servers and they have said they will be taking a look at them. With everything that has been going on at NAB I can see why there has been a bit of a delay. I'll cross post my hopeful solution here so everyone will be aware.

CJ sorry.. YES! absolutely.. the zoom function had some issues.. we would either get stuck in zoom mode (and i had to restart the camera) or the zoom button along with all the buttons (including settings) would not work.. and had to shut down the camera.

there is a fix for this.. but its not a practical fix..

this seems like a serious bug.

What is the fix? Do you mean restarting?
