  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

YAWN!

I know what #21 is... It's an official badge and certificate that qualifies the Scarlet purchaser as a "DP". Seeing how everyone and their brother who buys a 7D or 5Dm2 is suddenly elevated to DP status these days, RED is taking it one step further and actually issuing the credentials to back it up.

Sorry, I couldn't resist. I just spent two days shooting with a "DP" and his 7D kit. For some reason, I feel like I got kicked in the nuts.

not exactly the same thing but I know exactly what you mean --> http://www.facebook.com/home.php?#!/dpredwizard?ref=ts

lol

That RED DP page is funnier, everytime I read it.

My Mom bought me a RED camera so now I'm a DP. Timmy Rubensteiners' DP Tip #11: Got a big gig coming to town you're trying to outbid a competing DP for? For a fraction of your rate you can call the sucker DP and book him on a flight for a fake Michael Bay production out of town. By the time he figures it out, the gig is already yours.

Im a blender-head too, and am doing exactly the same. how are you finding 2.5?

I was using 2.4x until I found a bug that prevents my animated texture from working in a material. So now I am in 2.5a1 and trying to find some help on animation. I really like the interface better, a lot, but having a lot of problems with path animations. Someone on the blender forums just sent me a link to some docs on animating vehicles. For some reason, that path animation is flattening my object! :)

Other than that, It's a lot of fun. Cannot believe this program is free. My next step is to try and determine if there is any advantage to using one of the other external renders compared to the built in one. So far, it is doing great!
