  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

X-Men Apocalypse - Shot on RED

I own a Dragon and can't see myself shooting anything else for choice. The image quality, resoltuion, frame rates, modularity and form factor are unbeatable. Its a camera that gives you freedom, where creativity is the limit. Even if others excel a bit in some areas, it can never beat the conjuction of all these factors.
 
ShotOnWhat.com is a useful site to check tech specs too, not everything what was actually shot on Reds is listed on official page.
 
Yes, its great to see Dragon coming through. It reminds me of the Drake camera I had something to do with (short for the German word for Dragon, Drachen) used to film Drachen Feader (feather) a machine of its time. Made some good pictures for the day, designed by an acquaintance of mine. Now Dragon completes the cycle fulfilling the performance goals I set out in the digital cinema camera projects over a decade ago.
 
Just saw X-Men Apocalypse and I loved the look of it. Saw it in 2D and it was visually stunning. Story was enjoyable...not a perfect movie but a fun with cool moments. It's a nice beginning to summer movies.
 
Hmm, I posted another thread in off topic on it. I forgot this thread, but could tell it looked like Red. When caneras are good enough, the average person should not be able to tell which camera a normal looking film is filmed on, especially after the grade.
 
Definitely a fun movie. The Quicksilver bit was the best.
