Does that mean you used the RED ONE with some special macro lens to focus on an enlarged gate of a modded projector instead of using a proper film scanner to do telecine of original 16mm footage?

I'm curious about this as well. Might there be a making of element that you could either share or that will be available on the DVD, at least?

This is a beautifully constructed and important documentary, Frederic. You really did an amazing job finding all of this footage. The aerial shot you found of our men streaming out of the drop planes is absolutely amazing.

I traveled to Normandy this past June for the 65th anniversary of Operation Overlord, and got a chance to attend the reenactment jump this year near La Fiere Bridge. It is amazing how the war lives on in the French countryside and the people who live there now.

The purpose of my trip to Europe was to trace the footsteps of my Grandfather, Lt. Colonel Edwin J. Ostberg (82nd Airborne, 507th PIR. 1st Battalion commander). He served directly under General James Gavin, and fought his way across the French countryside only to later die in Udenbreth, Germany.

Thank you for creating such an amazing tribute to the brave men and women who served in such a horrific war.

There was a commercial during one of the episodes, I don't remember which, where a guy is projecting 16mm film onto a screen and capturing it directly with the RED ONE. There's a beauty shot of the EVF as well
