I'm looking to buy a RED One MX body and SSD or CF Card side module. My price range is around $4k. This was the price of the "battle tested" cameras offered through RED a few months back (I missed the boat).

More accessories are negotiable.

Feel free to PM me.

here is the problem, anyone that wants to sell their red one, wants to sell their complete package, rig and all and wont split it up, so you wind up having to spend about 10-12k to get into it. to find a body only for 4-7k is almost impossible, but good luck!

You will still need to buy all accessories for it including Red Mag, Red SSD Drive, Top Mount, etc... Realistically you will need to spend more than $8k in total.

4K was just for the Body with nothing else, so in the end add an other 8000 to 9000 in accessories and that is not even counting that if you look for single accessories you probably will spend more. and this is not counting lenses or support , follow focus , matte box etc. is not that simple like it looks. but good luck

For accessories, you don't need to buy the most expensive name brands. Most of mine I've gotten from ebay at MUCH lower prices than RED or Redrock Micro charge. And at the SAME quality, not carbon fiber, but I would take a little more weight over an extra $2,000 any day. Also helps if you already have lenses.

Honestly to get a working rig:
RED One body $4,000 (If you find it, I did)
Top mounts: Wooden Camera has them for $65 each
Top handle: You can find these practically everywhere, for leagues less than a RED handle, and it's the same thing.
RED Cradle: You can find them for very cheap on here compared to RED's site. This is if you are getting a battery and drive, otherwise I'd recommend a bolt on v mount.
Monitor: Honestly I'm figuring this out for myself, but I know you can find a great one for $500 or even less. Research.
Articulated arm for monitor: ebay for $20, good, solid quality.
Cables: Honestly I'm not much help here because you can find so many on ebay or REDUser, all depends, watch for good sales and deals!
Nikon mount (If you have the lenses): Got mine for $250
Battery/Power: I'm starting with the AC adapter, so if you can just shoot in studio for now, you'll probably be fine, not very convenient but it works. Got mine for $65.
And if you have Nikon lenses, you have a working RED.

I usually assume people buying a RED HAVE some of these accessories already, otherwise I kind of think it's a big jump. All in all, look for good prices, I've found loads of them. I got my RED for $4,000 with 5 16GB CFs and 4 8GB CFs, got my Nikon mount for $250, and an AC power supply for $65. My best lens for now is a 50mm Zeiss ZF.2 and it's fantastic. All I need are the top mounts, I have a handle, the articulated arm, a monitor, and cable, and I have a studio working RED. I also have rails, mattebox, and follow focus.

Also, Kessler has a fluid head that can take 150lbs, for $500, so I'd look into that. Honestly, until you have enough to get a battery, charger, and RED Drive, you're golden with those few accessories NEEDED to run a fully functional RED camera. Of course you may not need the Drive if you get SSDs. Good luck buddy!
