Greetings fellow redusers!

I recently experienced an unexpected surprise during my last prep -- My camera's sensor looks fried. Surprise!!!! It felt/feels wonderful. It's being sent out to RED for an eval/repair quote, but I'm expecting the worst and want to be prepared in the event it's a total loss. Which I'm pretty sure it is. :( :(

I'm not sure if my insurance will cover it yet (they've been notified/insuremyequipment.com) so I'll be sure the keep everyone updated on how that process goes as well! (For future possible customers)

SO! I'm putting my feelers out -- I must have a body in the next month or so -- I just lost a rental today, and I have other jobs lined up where I was expecting to have my camera as my A cam. I'm dying here and without a body I'm having to rent one out, which believe it or not can cost ya an arm and a leg. :/

SO!

I'm looking for a R1 MX camera body. If you have an Allstar mount on it/with it, I'd be totally interested in that as well in lieu of having the PL mount on there. SSD/CF/nothing? It doesn't matter. I have my own SSD and CF module.

I've been scoping out the RED for sale section, but I wanted to post directly to the board because I imagine by some wonderful miracle out there has a body they're trying to part with that's maybe collecting dust within the depths of their cinematic treasure tool hold. I know my tool lair is still mourning my loss :/ Here's to boosting the spirits right!??

I'm located out in Saint Louis, but I would want to have the camera sent in for the eval/transfer process to RED, so I knew it were in tip-top-shape. Standard procedure I suppose. If you'd want to meet up beforehand, I'd be willing to do that as well. US/Canada sellers only please. After everything checks out, if necessary I can fly out and pay you / do money transfer / write a check / which ever you'd prefer if physical presence is necessary. I'm definitely all-about making sure both myself, (and you, the seller) come away without being ripped off. (just lost a monitor and $1500 because of this actually :/ )

Can't wait to see some replies!

Sadly I've had a similar experience with my Red One. I sent it in for an evaluation, but unfortunately the estimate came back at $10k to repair... I'm afraid the best option (for me at least) is to pick up a used one here on RedUser or eBay for a fraction of the cost and retire your old one to looking pretty on the end of the shelf...
