Hello fellow filmmaking comrades!

I am on a quest to purchase my first RED ONE M- (Non-MX) package for under 10k. It's time for me to stop renting, and to start owning!!!! :D

If you're trying to sell, please send me your package list, with the # of hours on the camera, and your contact info.

(Excited to purchase)

Viva la' cinema!

-Joshua!

Hi Joshua, interesting that you are trying to buy a non mx red one. I've heard people before expressing their preference for the skin tones of the red one m, just wondering what your reason is for not wanting the mx?
Greetings,
Hans

Hey Hans!
Thanks for asking! That's interesting (about the skin tones) I always felt it was somewhat softer in the M; the MX definitely seemed cleaner; and more color accurate. (funny that I say that right?)

Welp! My reasons for purchasing the R1 M rather than the MX are simply financial. I have okay glass, a great support package; but have always rented my cameras, but I've always had dreams of being an owner/operator.

Since I'm not planning on renting it out; I'll only be using it for the projects I'm shooting. The imagery from the R1M is still great; and with the right eye, light, and love; I feel the R1 gives me enough technical latitude to transcend what I want to do creatively; and push my career and images to that next level. Of course the MX outperforms the M in low-light, less noise (I think it's like 2-stops in the lows?) and newer more accurate color. All of these technical issues can be worked around though; with an end result of a sweet image. That's the great thing about RED; they make superior cinematic tools; and even outdated- it's still in the game if put into the right hands. I can always upgrade to MX when I have the cash; but as of now, I really, really want a killer package to shoot with in these jobs I have lined up in the next few months. I feel like I'd be dreaming if I could find a ready-to-go RED MX with a decent accessory package in my price range. But of course, I would accept one with wild-waving-happy-arms. The MX is definitely better, but... it's the goodies like batteries, data, etc. that really hit the pocket book hard and add up quick.

I've seen a couple of packages go for under 10k ready to shoot,

This one just sold for 9.5k

Keep your eyes peeled and let me know of any deals!! :D

Best regards,

-Joshua
